Why this matters
When you can see who is really behind a company, it becomes much harder to hide money, dodge sanctions, or win public contracts through hidden connections. Across the EU, company-ownership data is treated as information the public should be able to find and reuse.
How to look up a company or a person
Go to Search, type a company or person's name, and open a result to see its ownership and control structure. No account is needed, and it's free.
What you'll see in a record
A record shows the company, the people and entities that own or control it, how much they hold or how they exert control, and how well each part is backed by evidence. Where ownership runs through several companies, you can follow the chain to the people at the end.
What's public, and what's private
You'll see a person's name, their month and year of birth, their country, and the nature and extent of their control. You won't see their home address, exact date of birth, or details that aren't needed to identify them. This balance follows EU privacy law — see Access & privacy.
